Weinhofmeisterei Mathias Hirtzberger in Wösendorf farms 10 hectares in first-class Wachau sites such as Spitaler, Kollmütz and Bach. The focus lies on Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, vinified close to nature with great mindfulness – sometimes as expressive single-site wines, sometimes as multi-layered blends (“Wappenweine”) that mirror the diversity of the “Ur-Wachau”. The aim is to create authentic wines that make origin, microclimate and vintage tangible.
