Germany
Germany is the No. 1 country for Riesling. With around 24,000 hectares of vineyards, it leads the world in cultivating this grape variety, particularly along the Mosel, the Nahe and the Rheingau. The quality levels of German Rieslings are based on the ripeness of the grapes at harvest and showcase the full breadth of the variety: from light, elegant Kabinett wines through aromatic Spätlesen and concentrated Auslesen to noble-sweet rarities such as Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein.
