Champagne
Champagne lies just around 150 km north-east of Paris and is one of the northernmost quality wine regions in Europe. The famous chalk soils retain water like a sponge and lend Champagne its precise minerality and longevity. In cities such as Reims and Épernay, millions of bottles are stored in kilometres of chalk cellars, the “Crayères”.
