Wine with Passion.
This is our motto, which we and our team live by wholeheartedly. That’s why the careful selection of wines, provenance, perfect bottle conditions and good consultation are important to us.
Our portfolio – from mature to young
Thanks to our personal passion and specialisation in big names (blue chips), mature wines and selected young wines, our fully air-conditioned cellar primarily stocks wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône and, of course, Austria (12,000 bottles as of July 2024). But you can also find selected names from California, Italy, Spain, Germany and more.
In addition to our mature portfolio, we import young Burgundies, selected names from the Place de Bordeaux and work with winegrowers in Austria. Thanks to our co-operation with LVMH and Mounier, among others, we also offer champagnes such as Krug, Dom Pérignon, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart and Cristal in larger quantities. This enables us to fulfil (almost) all your wishes in terms of region, flavour and wallet.
Private customers and catering
Our private customers can easily browse and buy from home via our online shop. If you have any questions, we will be happy to advise you over the phone or in our wine shop in Vienna’s 3rd district over a glass of wine.
Our gastronomy customers benefit from our experience when it comes to balanced wine lists. We drink what we talk about, and thanks to the diverse backgrounds of our team, we also have the expertise to support our customers from the catering, hotel and retail sectors.
High-quality wine tastings – MasterClasses
And because wine should not only be traded, but also drunk, May Wines regularly offers MasterClasses on topics such as Bordeaux left versus right bank, Burgundy ripe, grape variety comparisons around the world, verticals of a winery and more. These take place in a sophisticated setting in a villa in the 13th district, in a stylish ambience in the 3rd district or at friendly restaurants and winegrowers throughout Austria. We are also happy to organise a MasterClass for you privately or for your customers.
We are characterised by wine – our background
Wine with Passion has been our private motto for more than 25 years. During this time, we have already stored almost 10,000 bottles of wine in our air-conditioned cellar, organised major wine tastings, made many wine trips and written detailed tasting notes. Since 2017, we’ve also been thoroughly involved in wine professionally. The great thing is that we have always been able to feel first-hand how the topic of wine connects us.
Even during Berndt’s time as Managing Director at J.P. Morgan, wine and enjoyment were a (then still) smaller part of his work, alongside his specialist presentations on asset management and the economic outlook. The wine community is a friendly one, the most wonderful friendships have developed, and we still love to talk about wine, talk shop or simply enjoy it during consultations or wine tastings. No matter whether at our professional MasterClasses or at private tastings.
