Spain
A wonderful diversity: with around 960,000 hectares of vineyards, Spain is one of the largest wine countries in the world. The warm, dry climate and traditional bush-vine training keep yields low and produce concentrated wines. Famous are Rioja with its Tempranillo blends, Priorat with powerful reds from old Carignan vines, and Ribera del Duero with the cult wine Vega Sicilia. In the cool north-west, fresh, fruit-driven white wines are produced.
