Languedoc-Roussillon
The Languedoc-Roussillon wine region stretches from the Rhône to the Pyrenees and is France’s largest wine-growing region by production volume. A Mediterranean climate, sparse soils and great varietal diversity define the area. The main grapes are Carignan, Grenache, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromatic red and rosé wines, as well as Crémants from Limoux, are well known. Quality levels range from the Languedoc AOC to the rare Grands Crus du Languedoc.
