Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy December 2024
93-96 70% whole bunch vinification, placed at the bottom of the vat and in layers, but never at the top. Purple to black colour, very intense. The nose is mildly oxidative, a question of the sample rather than the wine. There is an extra layer of a glycerol rich velvet to the fruit, dark raspberry and a bit of blackberry, sucrosity in the middle and with plenty of pepper at the finish. A little more profundity, still low in acidity but should be enough, greater persistence. Quite a stylistic difference, more than absolute quality. Drink from 2030-2038.
