Jura
The Jura wine region between Burgundy and Switzerland, with only around 1,500 hectares of vineyards, is one of the smallest in France. Clay and limestone soils together with a continental climate shape the wines of the Jura. The region is known for indigenous grape varieties such as Savagnin, Trousseau and Poulsard. The speciality Vin Jaune evokes the flavour of dry sherry. Crémant sparkling wines are also produced here in the traditional method.
