Shipping information
Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and size of the parcel. To ensure your order is insured in the event of breakage or loss, a small additional insurance fee is included. Please note that delivery costs may vary depending on the order value.
Shipping is generally handled by our logistics partners Austrian Post (standard shipping) or DHL. Shipping via DHL within Europe and to the countries listed below is also available on request.

Greece: We currently offer shipping via DHL, as this is the safest and fastest shipping option.
Cyprus: We ship parcels to the Republic of Cyprus and currently offer shipping via DHL.
Ireland: We currently offer shipping via DHL, as this is the safest and fastest shipping option.
Non-EU countries: We are happy to ship your parcels via DHL. Please note that as the importer you are responsible for VAT, import duties and customs fees. We ship to the following countries: Switzerland, Liechtenstein, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore.
Countries with special
import regulations
USA: In recent years, increasingly strict and frequently changing regulations have made shipping to the United States considerably more difficult. In addition, stricter rules apply to the import of alcohol, which we are currently unable to meet.
Asian countries not listed: Many Asian countries require an import licence for the import of alcohol. Stricter regulations also apply, which we are currently unable to meet.
South America, Africa, Australia, Middle East: Shipping to these regions is currently not possible.
Shipping via DHL
We are happy to ship your order via DHL at any time if you prefer this shipping option. All shipments to non-EU countries (e.g. Switzerland and Liechtenstein) are sent via DHL, which also handles the entire customs and export process.

Express delivery
If desired, we are happy to arrange express shipping via DHL for you. Delivery within the EU usually takes between 1–2 working days. Slightly higher shipping costs apply to express deliveries. Contact us at shop@maywines.com — we are happy to help.
For customers in Vienna we also offer same-day delivery by express courier upon receipt of payment or by arrangement.
Pallet & bulk shipping
Bottles of 3 litres and above as well as orders with more than 30 bottles are shipped on pallets by individual arrangement. Please contact us at shop@maywines.com to discuss the shipping costs and shipping process.

Frequently asked questions
You can pay by bank transfer (preferred payment method). You will find our bank details in your order confirmation. We also accept payments with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, EPS transfer, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
We strive to process your order as quickly as possible. As a rule, orders are ready to ship within one to two working days.
Orders placed at the weekend are processed on the next working day. We try to ship orders at the start of the week so that the wines are not held in the postal depot over the weekend.
As soon as your order is ready for pick-up, we will send you a confirmation. You can collect your order during our opening hours at Landstraßer Gürtel 19, 1030 Vienna. We recommend calling ahead on +43 1 796 50 20.
Our orders are delivered via Austrian Post or DHL. You can track the progress of your parcel via the tracking link in the shipping confirmation email. Please note that it may take a few days for the shipping progress to become visible.

Occasionally it may be necessary to split your order across several parcels. Possible reasons: the order exceeds the maximum insurable amount or the permitted parcel size.
To ensure your wines arrive safely, we remove all orders from the OWCs and repack them in certified shipping cartons. If you would like to keep the original packaging, please get in touch with us.
Why? Closed OWCs cannot be insured and the risk of breakage is higher. If you would still like the closed OWC, we are happy to look into pallet delivery. For self-collection, you can of course take your bottles in their original case.
Temperatures below 0 °C or above 25 °C increase the risk of frost or heat damage. Unfortunately, insurance cover does not apply in these cases.
To protect your wines as best as possible, we offer to store them in our climate-controlled wine cellar. Shipping then takes place on request or as soon as we find the optimal shipping window.

If bottles have been damaged, please take photos of all damage to the packaging and the items immediately. Keep the damaged items and the packaging — we will need these for the damage report. Contact us at shop@maywines.com.
Good to know: If your parcel shows visible damage on delivery, please only sign for receipt with reservation. If this is not possible, please do not accept the parcel.
When shipping within the EU, you pay the VAT rate of your country — your parcel does not go through customs.
If you have a valid VAT ID, we can issue you an intra-Community delivery invoice. Please provide us with your VAT ID and the company address.
Since February 2023, new EU regulations on excise duty authorisations for goods in free circulation apply. When shipping wine to other companies within the EU, we require an excise duty number.
When shipping outside the EU, your order is exempt from VAT. As the importer you are responsible for VAT, import duties and customs fees.
On our website you will find tax information below the price details. If a wine includes the note “Margin-taxed”, no additional tax is charged.
