Fill levels and labels are especially important for high-quality wines and blue-chips. These two factors can provide information about storage, the quality of the contents and potential aging stages.

| hs | high-shoulder | Natürlicher Schwund, normalerweise völlig harmlos. Akzeptabel für Weine älter als 20 Jahre. Außergewöhnlich für Weine, die älter als 50 Jahre sind. |
| ms | mid-shoulder | Meistens ein Zeichen für einen alternden Kork, daher niedrigerer Schätzwert. Kalkulierbares Risiko. Nicht ungewöhnlich für 30 bis 40 Jahre alte Weine. |
| lms | lower-mid-shoulder | Risiko noch akzeptabel. Niedrigere Schätzung. |
| ls | low-shoulder | Riskanter Kauf. Nur akzeptabel für besonders seltene oder begehrte Weine. Niedrigste Schätzung. |
