Sangiovese
Sangiovese is Italy’s most important grape variety and shapes above all the wines of Tuscany. It forms the basis for famous classics such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Typical are a vibrant acidity, medium tannins and aromas of sour cherry, red berries, herbs and often slightly earthy notes. Beyond Italy it is also found in smaller quantities in California and Australia.
