Domaine Jamet
The more recent history of the Jamet estate began in 1976 when the brothers Jean Paul and Jean Luc took over the operation from their father. Together, they produced top-quality Rhône wines for over 30 years, establishing the good name of the estate. Since 2012, Jean Paul has continued running the winery with his wife Corinne and their son.
The estate has 12 hectares of vineyards in Côte-Rôtie, with 5 hectares in notable single vineyards such as Côte Brune, La Landonne, La Moutonne, and Bonnivières. In total, there are 30 plots, some of which are so steep that they can only be worked by hand. What we wine lovers like to hear—”handcrafted wines”—is often not a choice of the winemaker but dictated by the terrain. The Jamets have always been hands-on and treat each plot individually during vinification and aging. The result is exceptionally refined wines and, above all, top Syrahs that are always sold out quickly.
