95 The 2018 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling GG is excitingly clear, fresh and chalky on the pure yet still austere and reductive, lemon-scented and flinty, phenolic and still untamed bouquet. On the palate, this is a pure and fresh, rich and very elegant, silky-textured and powerful yet refreshing chalky and lime-flavored Riesling with great complexity and grip. This is a highly promising Riesling that belongs to the best Rieslings of the Pfalz. Fine tannins. Tasted at the domaine in March 2020.
