99-100 Bright yellow-green with silver reflections. Very complex, delicate tropical fruit, a hint of peach, floral nuances, delicate saffron and mandarin zest, seductive bouquet. Juicy, complex, white stone fruit, fresh and lively, refined structure, mineral-salty finish, enormous length, great balance and assured aging potential for many years—simply Riesling in perfection.

92 Deep white-gold, the 2022 Ried Singerriedel Riesling Smaragd shows an intensely spicy as well as elegant and aromatic nose of apricots with a certain phenolic quality. It is dense and very aromatic on the palate but not free of stress phenols, which are not particularly fine. It has somewhat astringent and washed out fruit on the finish. This is a baroque style, but at the moment, the shapes and colors are somewhat blurred. Tasted at Schloss Dürnstein, Wachau, in September 2023.
