97 A solid deep purple. It takes a while for the bouquet to emerge, then some stems show through in a good way, with some white pepper complexity alongside the attractively ripe fruit. There’s a little bit of oak too. Given the vintage, this is almost understated, yet very fine and with impressive length. A sleeper to lay away in the cellar. Drink from 2030.
