Among the largest and best-known vineyard owners of Clos de Vougeot are Château de la Tour (5.48 ha), Méo-Camuzet (3 ha), Louis Jadot (2.15 ha), Leroy (1.91 ha), Grivot (1.86 ha), Gros Frère et Sœur (1.56 ha), Eugénie (1.36 ha), Lamarche, Faiveley, Hudelot-Noëllat, Anne Gros (1 ha), Joseph Drouhin, Bouchard Père et Fils, Mugneret-Gibourg and Denis Mortet.
Only red wine is produced in the Clos de Vougeot (Grand Cru) appellation. Alongside Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru there are also Vougeot Premier Cru and Vougeot Village. A small amount of white is produced at the Premier Cru and Village levels. Like most Burgundian vineyards, Clos de Vougeot is a (gentle) slope, and the best wines are harvested from the upper part. The quality of the wines is therefore not homogeneous and depends heavily on the producer and their parcels.
